Instagram is testing a dislike button, but only for comments
Instagram is testing a new dislike button, which the company has signaled is a way for users to effectively downvote a distasteful or irrelevant comment. The dislike button is only for comments, and not the actual content itself. The platform is testing this with both Reels and Feed posts.
The service will not show a dislike count, though Instagram head Adam Mosseri says that dislikes will eventually contribute to comment ranking. In other words, this feature is most like the Reddit downvote button.

Europe has twice as many climate tech startups as the US
Europe is home to twice as many climate tech startups as the US (30,000 vs. 14,300). However, limited access to VC funding is forcing these early-stage companies to seek capital from outside the continent, according to a new report released at the Munich Security Conference today.
Venture financing in Europe averaged just 0.2% of GDP between 2013 and 2023, a fraction of the US average of 0.7%. While the continent is great at creating clean tech companies, it’s not so good at funding them.

Apple’s planned robot products won’t launch before 2028, per Kuo – 9to5Mac
Last week, an Apple-made robot lamp video circulated, giving us a sneak peek into how fascinating a future robot product could be. Today, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has chimed in with the latest status of Apple’s internal robotics projects.
Apple robot products still in proof-of-concept, unlikely to launch before 2028
The timeline from POC [proof-of-concept] to formal kick-off varies. Given current progress and typical development cycles, Apple’s robot mass production likely won’t start until 2028 or later. Interestingly, Apple has been unusually open about sharing some of its robotics research during the early POC stage—possibly to attract talent.
