2025 AirTag rumored to get remarkably longer range location tracking and precision

Rumors persist that Apple will roll out a new AirTag in 2025, bringing more precise tracking to the device with a new and longer-ranged Ultra Wideband chip.

The AirTag has had Ultra Wideband from the start. It is at the core of the AirTag, and allows for Precision Finding at relatively close range.

However, a new report on Sunday morning delves into a main improvement in the device. Reportedly the next AirTag will get an Ultra Wideband chip that’s ”on par” with the one found in the iPhone 15.

As reported by The New York Times:

Mr. Cook and Mr. Trump are scheduled to dine on the patio at Mar-a-Lago later on Friday, according to two people with knowledge of the upcoming meeting. The two men had a warm relationship during Mr. Trump’s first term — much warmer than Mr. Trump’s with other tech executives, like Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg or Google’s Sundar Pichai, both of whom recently had their own meals with Mr. Trump.

Yet, X itself, which is the only source of truly accurate X usage info, continues to report record usage, with its latest update being that “active user seconds”, its preferred performance metric, reached a record high in 2024.

OpenAI introduces “Santa Mode” to ChatGPT for ho-ho-ho voice chats

On Thursday, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT users can now talk to a simulated version of Santa Claus through the app’s voice mode, using AI to bring a North Pole connection to mobile devices, desktop apps, and web browsers during the holiday season.

The company added Santa’s voice and personality as a preset option in ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode. Users can access Santa by tapping a snowflake icon next to the prompt bar or through voice settings. The feature works on iOS and Android mobile apps, chatgpt.com, and OpenAI’s Windows and MacOS applications. The Santa voice option will remain available to users worldwide until early January.
