Apple needs another Snow Leopard to fix its software

Apple needs another Snow Leopard to fix its software

The last few days have been very busy when it comes to Apple news. That’s because the company has confirmed that the new Siri experience has been delayed while sources suggest that the new features promised at last year’s WWDC won’t be ready any time soon. Given everything that’s going on at Apple recently, there’s one thing that could really help: another Snow Leopard.

If you’ve been a Mac user for at least 16 years, you probably remember how important Mac OS X Snow Leopard was. At the time, Apple didn’t usually release a new version of Mac OS X every year. And when Snow Leopard came out, Apple wasn’t focused on introducing new features or design changes. Instead, the company put its efforts into improving the stability of the software.

Chinese firms are active stakeholders in an estimated 78 of 231 African commercial ports, according to a new tally by the Washington-based African Center for Strategic Studies.

“This is a significantly greater presence than anywhere else in the world,” noted the academic institution, which sits within the US Department of Defense. By comparison, it said, Latin America and the Caribbean host 10 Chinese-built or operated ports, while Asian countries host 24.

Trump Claims Boycotting Tesla Is Illegal, Which It Very Much Is Not

Trump Claims Boycotting Tesla Is Illegal, Which It Very Much Is Not

blankElon Musk’s companies aren’t having the best couple of weeks, it seems. ExTwitter suffered from several outages this week, some lengthy, while Musk claimed that it was the result of a DDoS attack and hinted that Ukraine might be to blame. The story of SpaceX thus far in 2025 has mostly been one filled with delays, malfunctions, and the occasional explosion. Last week saw the seventh straight weekly decline of stock price for Tesla.

None of these are insurmountable challenges for the world’s richest man, assuming he still is that after these past few months. Twitter can build more resiliency into its platform if it chooses. The rockets can be fixed. And Tesla’s stock will surely rise at some point. In other words, I can’t claim that all of this is the result of Musk’s purchase of a fugazi cabinet post at DOGE.

The mobile gaming market shows positive signs of life in early 2025, according to the latest report from analytics company Adjust. The company released its Gaming App Insights 2025 report, which gives insights on the trends in the mobile gaming market for the last year. According to Adjust, that market is showing signs of growth and recovery following a challenging time, in part thanks to shifts in monetization strategy.

Adjust’s findings show that global gaming app installs grew by 4% year-over-year in 2024. One of the big takeaways from the report is that there are new growth opportunities in the mobile market, in part thanks to new AI-driven in-game experiences increasing personalization. It’s also apparently shifting user acquisition strategies by helping studios quickly identify the top-performing ad creatives.

Judges in two US states ordered thousands of fired federal employees to have their jobs reinstated Thursday, in the most significant blow yet to the efforts by the so-called Department of Government Efficiency to shrink the federal government.

A district judge in Maryland agreed with 20 Democratic-led states that in firing probationary employees en masse, 18 agencies had violated regulations that require layoffs for government employees to be personalized and come with advance notice.
