Deezer, a Spotify alternative that launched in the US in 2016, shared on Wednesday that 20,000 completely AI-generated tracks are added to its music service on a daily basis, making up ”over 18% of all uploaded content” the platform receives every day.
Like other streaming services, Deezer offers methods for independent artists to upload their own music without having to be part of a larger licensing deal with a record label. While that lowers some barriers, it also leaves the door open for music that isn’t made by people at all. Clearly, people are taking advantage of the option.

The Trump administration’s sweeping tariffs have ruffled feathers across the world — and reignited Europe’s push for digital sovereignty.
One of the key focus points has been Europe’s cloud infrastructure, which is currently dominated by US tech giants: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Together, the “big three” account for more than 50% of the continent’s cloud market.
“Europe has been heavily reliant on US tech and cloud for decades,” said Mark Boost, CEO of UK-based web hosting company Civo. “But there are alternatives, where France, Germany, and the UK have full control of their data and cloud landscape.”

Europol supported an action led by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) in Berlin (Germany) and Vilnius (Lithuania), which involved around 1 000 police, tax and customs officers carrying out 200 searches in ten countries. The investigation targeted a vast criminal organisation active in smuggling badly damaged cars from the United States (US) into the European Union (EU), and selling them to end customers after superficial repair, while defrauding the payment of customs duties and committing large-scale value-added tax (VAT) fraud.
Apart for the budgetary damage to society, this criminal scheme also posed serious dangers to the safety of European consumers, who unknowingly bought hazardous vehicles for a high price. 10 suspects, including one of the suspected ringleaders of the criminal organisation, a Lithuanian citizen, were arrested. In addition, 18 other suspects were detained for questioning, all Lithuanian citizens. Key suspects of Russian nationality are also under investigation.

The European Commission is supplying staffers bound for the US on official business with burner phones and basic laptops. The security measure, which is common practice for staff members visiting regions like Russia or China where electronic surveillance is anticipated, is meant to thwart espionage attempts.
An EU official told the Financial Times, ”The transatlantic alliance is over.”
