At Nintendo’s big Switch 2 Direct, the company revealed the launch date for the new console, and also when preorders would go live. However, the company has now stated that it’s delaying preorders for U.S.-based customers due to the recent tariffs introduced by President Donald Trump. It says will update timing on the preorders later, before the console’s launch worldwide on June 5.Nintendo’s statement, as seen by GamesBeat, says, “Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged.”
