The rumored iPhone 17 Air will measure 9.5mm thick, including its new full-width camera bar, according to a report from Ice Universe.
In a recent post on Weibo, the leaker wrote:
The camera bump on the iPhone 17 Air is 4.0mm, making the total thickness of the device 9.5mm.
Notably, this corroborates a recent report from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In January, Kuo stated that the iPhone 17 Air would likely only support eSIM to enable its ultra-thin design.
The 2H25 ultra-thin iPhone (with the thinnest part around 5.5mm) and the foldable iPhone, which is in the planning stage, will likely only support eSIM due to their ultra-thin design. Given that Chinese market currently does not promote phones that only support eSIM, these two models could face shipping momentum challenges unless their design is modified.
